Our fall Symposium featured Aaron “Cujo” Cooley a professional sound mixer for film and TV based out of Atlanta. He has been a part of the film industry for decades with work in the props department and carpentry as well as audio. Cujo has worked on scores of Atlanta film and television productions including multiple Tyler Perry Made movies, The Trip to Bountiful, Baywatch, Sleepless, Mother’s Day, the Accountant and tv shows Insatiable, Superstition, Saints and Sinners, Say Yes to the Dress, For Better or Worse, the Haves and Have nots, Drop Dead Diva, the Game and Devious Maids. Mr. Cooley is also a former officers for the stagehands union, IATSE Local #479.

The students asked questions about how to apply their theatre training to careers in film and what additional classes they should take while enrolled to ensure they were equipped for a career in both fields.

The full theatre department was in attendance to here what Cujo had to share.

After the symposium Cujo stayed for a workshop, Q&A session with those who had serious interest in the specifics of sound and who does what on a film set.

Thank you to Cujo for sharing your wisdom with us!
