Our newest initiative to provide added value to CSU Students is a monthly informal sit down called “Pizza with Paul.” Each month Producing Artistic Director of the Springer, Paul Pierce, hosts an informal meet up where students are invited to interact with guest directors, actors, and designers. Topics vary monthly based on the skills of the guests attending and students are encouraged to ask questions about anything else that comes to mind during their time together.  Some popular points of discussion this year have included selecting audition material for regional vs. New York cattle call auditions, keeping up with your health while touring, and how to prepare to make the move to a big city after graduation.

Guest Director and Choreographer of “Dreamgirls” Keith McCoy sits down with students to share his journey after college into the professional work and the steps he has taken to have consistent work year after year.
Cast members of “Million Dollar Quartet” discuss how their musicianship has impacted their performance career and share tips on remaining healthy while touring.
Cast members from “Mamma Mia” share the best ways to get side jobs to keep you afloat while pursuing professional theatre.
